Benedict Roth

Benedict Roth is a popular Talmud teacher who studied Mishnah at the Pardes Institute in Jerusalem and at Oxford. His Daily Mishnah series is part of the semicha programme at Yeshivas Elimelech in Washington DC.

Benedict resides in London and, when he is not teaching Talmud, works in financial risk management.

The tractate of Shabbat closes with a discussion of acts which are required for the purposes of a mitzvah but are not, strictly speaking, acts of creation in line with the 39 archetypal categories of \"work\" outlined in Chapter 7.
